Gozna, Dorothy Arlene, Halifax and Sandy Cove, Digby County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, at age 95, while residing at Melville Gardens, Halifax Born in Centrelea, Annapolis County in 1917, a daughter of Rupert and Phoebe Rice, she and her husband, Eric, owned and operated Harbour View Lodge and Cottages in Sandy Cove for over twenty years. Upon retirement they spent thirty winters in Seminole Florida and during the summer ran their gift shop, Capt Billy's Arts and Crafts, in Sandy Cove. Dorothy and Eric shared 67 years of marriage, a wonderful sense of humour, gentle dispositions, an enthusiasm for life and strong love of family and friends. Survived by her two children: Avril Brayton (Dr. Stephan), Halifax and Dr. Eric Gozna (Ellen MacDonald), St Andrews NB; and four loving granddaughters: Dr. Jennifer Brayton (Jeff France), Toronto; Laura Brayton, Arizona; Alison (Gozna) Brazeau (Dan), Nelson BC; Cate (Gozna) Willett (Jordan), Halifax; three great-grandsons: Joseph and William Brazeau and Elias Willett. She was predeceased by her husband, Eric, a son, Barry and two brothers, John and Herbert. The family wish to acknowledge the wonderful care that Dorothy received at Melville Gardens.
