BARRIEAU, FLORINE - Florine Barrieau, of Moncton, passed away surrounded by her family on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont University Medical Centre, Moncton. Born in Acadieville, Kent County, on July 10, 1934, she was the daughter of Léonard Barrieau (1986) and Léonie Richard (2000). Florine was a parishioner of the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral, Moncton. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by 10 sisters and four brothers: Father Yvon and Aline (Aldéric) Haché of Moncton; Éva (late Éloi 2010) Martin, Cécile, Maria (Louis) LeBlanc, sister-in-law Maria (late Rufin 1971), Alfred (Edna), Rhéa, Marguerite (late Paul-Émile 1999) Richard, and Rosaire (Murielle) all of Dieppe; Sister Irène of Campbellton; Éthel (late Alfred 2009) Melanson of Simsbury, Conn.; Sister Rita of Cacouna QC; Rosa of Saint-Thomas-de-Kent; and Marcel (Susan) of Laval QC; as well as many other dear relatives too numerous to include. Special mention should be made of her cousin and best friend Suzanne, who was a faithful and caring presence, as well as Cléola, Nicole and others who sustained her during her long illness. Florine had a rewarding career in the nursing field and was recognized for her untiring efforts as a volunteer in many charitable organizations in the cultural, local and pastoral communities where she was able to touch the hearts of many people in need. The family is grateful and wishes to thank all her doctors, the Red Cross, Ability Transport and the courageous personnel of Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont University Medical Centre, in particular the Dialysis Unit, for the wonderful care she received during the many years of her illness.
At her request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton, on Wednesday, April 3, at 11 am. A reception at the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club will follow immediately after the mass. Your condolences and donations may be transmitted by visiting www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
