Bird, Russell Melbourne – 67, Great Village died peacefully at his home on March 30, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Eveleen (Alexander) Bird. He is survived by daughter, Shelly Vincent (Billy Briggs); granddaughter, Samantha Trites (Michael); grandsons, Dustin Taylor (Brianna), “Bo” Taylor (Emma) and great grandson, Mason Taylor; sister, Linda Slack (David); brothers, Jim Bird (Marion), Bryne Bird (Esther), Royce Bird (Bev); several nieces and nephews. Russell served in the army as a peacekeeper (guardsman) in Cyprus and also worked as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing, going for long drives, playing darts and bragging about his grandchildren. He also enjoyed his quiet life at the beach. Russell will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Everyone is welcome to attend a celebration of his life that will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 2:00 pm in Debert Legion, Branch 106, 1252 Masstown Road, Debert.
