JOHANNA HENRIETTA ENDERT-SCHUTTE
March 28, 1936 ~ April 2, 2013
It is with profound sadness that we announce that our beloved wife, mother and Oma left us suddenly and too soon, in her sleep on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
Ann was born in Bergen in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands, where she grew up with her two brothers amidst sand and dunes, as her father was in charge of a water power station.
When her father passed away, Ann joined true Royal Dutch Air Force where she met her future husband William (Bill) Edward Endert.
Due to a severe housing shortage in Holland, they decided to move to Sweden where Bill found work in a sawmill and Ann worked in an office. However, it fell short of their expectations and they returned to Holland. They moved in with Bill’s parents and they both found employment and finally got married. Again, it was not really the ideal set-up,
so they decided to move to Canada, where they arrived on July 1, 1960.
The first years in Canada were years of disappointment and hardship, but they fought and worked hard, believing this time they had made the right choice.
Bill found work in construction and later on in the woods, while Ann worked as a babysitter for well-to-do people, and she also worked as a fish cleaner and finally became a travel agent, climbing the ladder to office manager.
Ann was a determined woman with a strong personality, always believing in the future. Her love and devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren were more than extraordinary and one of her fine characteristics.
She loved gardening, reading and travelling to foreign and exotic places. She loved to be on the soccer or softball field encouraging her grandchildren to do their best.
She leaves to mourn her husband William (Bill); daughter Erica (Christian); son Walter (Tammy); and her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life: Savannah, Tristan and Warner; as well as many friends, one niece and nephew in Holland; and Diva, our dog.
Her passing has left a deep void. We will miss her smiling face.
