Donald Osmond

Donald R. Osmond, 87, of Springhill and Parrsboro passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan.
Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Beatrice (Hopkins) Osmond. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. Don was very active in both his professional and personal life, but the things that mattered most to him was his family and his love of music.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Blenkhorn; daughter, Janet Williamson (Fred), Coquitlam, B.C.; a granddaughter, Sarah, Coquitlam; a grandson, Andrew (Jennifer), Calgary; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, Jessie, Marjorie; brothers, Harold, Leonard, Edward, Reginald “Rud”, Jerry.
Visitation 2-4 p.m. on Thursday [April 11, 2013] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. A celebration of Don’s life will take place on Friday [April 12, 2013] at 2 p.m. in Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Keith Selwyn-Smith, DLM officiating.
