
Phillip Lumsden
Lumsden, Phillip Edward, 85, Truro, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax Infirmary Halifax. Born in Hazel Hill, NS, he was a son of the late Archie and Florence (Spriggs) Lumsden. Phillip worked for several years as a linesman for MT&T. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a member of the D.C.S.C.. He had a great passion for baseball and hockey and was a great Blue Jay’s fan.
He is survived by his loving wife Thelma (Clattenburg) Lumsden of 54 years; son Stephen (Connie) of Truro; daughters Sandi Norman (Brian) of Cole Harbour, Shelley Lumsden (Frank) of Truro; grandchildren, Robbie, Chanda, Amber, Melissa, Melanie, Jason, Melanie-Sue, Alslinn, Christian, Michael, Chainse, Brandon; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Mrs. Hilda Waddingham of Ontario. .
He was predeceased by a granddaughter Jamie Lynn; great-grandson Adain; brother Burton; sister Jean Westhaver.
No visitation by family request. Funeral service will take place on Sunday at 3 pm in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Cory Somers will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Disabled Consumers Society of Colchester.
