Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Friday, April 12th, 2013, Mary Josephine Whelan (nee Walsh) age 95 years. Predeceased by her husband Thomas; and sons: William and Thomas Jr. Leaving to mourn are her two sons: Patrick, Colliers and Francis (Mary), Marysvale; three daughters: Angela (Bren) Whelan, Colliers, Elizabeth (Peter) Quinlan, Holyrood, and Rose (Fred) Phillips, Colliers; step-sister Joan Doyle; her daughter-in-law Mary Gushue, Brigus; special niece Mary Harris; her home care workers: Patsy Walsh and Sue Woodford; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn extended family and friends. Resting at Conway’s Funeral Home, Conception Harbour with visitation on Sunday, April 14th from 12 noon -4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and Monday, April 15th from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Colliers.
