Crowe, Basil Leon – 79 – with saddened hearts we announce the passing of our dear and beloved father on April 12, 2013 at the Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Truro he was the son of the late Aaron Crowe and Ina MacCallum. Basil worked at Halliday Craftsman’s Ltd and owned his own trucking business, “Basil’s Light Trucking”. Later he also worked at Stanfield’s Ltd. Dad was such a kind and gentle man who loved a good joke and his chocolate. His last years were spent at The Mira Long Term Care Centre where many of the staff became part of his family. The family would like to thank the staff on Unit C at The Mira for their care and concern for dad. We would especially like to thank Terry for her exceptional attention to Dad. You were all so wonderful to him and you are all very special people. He is survived by his daughters, Darlene (Peter) Marshall, Leona (Danny) Neil; son, Basil (Beverly); grandchildren, Tammy Knight, Rachel Anderson, Nick Crowe, Courtney Crowe; two great grandchildren; sister, Lavenia (Kenneth) Cox; brother, Gary (Doreen) Crowe; sisters-in-law, Ola Crowe, Debbie Crowe, Peggy (Francis) Stewart; brother-in-law, Ian (Kenda)Taylor; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Nora (Taylor); brothers, Allen, Rollie. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at the request of the family. Donations in dad’s memory may be made to the Parkinson Society or charity of choice.
