DYER, REV. ALBERT - 1928 - 2013 - Rev. Albert L. Dyer of Bristol, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2013 in his 85th year. Predeceased by wife Gladys, parents Bert and Margaret Dyer, three half brothers, two sisters and two brothers. Albert is survived by sister Margaret McIsaac of Florenceville and brother Waymen of Hamilton, Ontario. Albert is fondly remembered by stepson Bruce Parker and his wife Dr. Kirsten Parker of Barrie, Ontario, their children, Jennifer and her husband, Dr. Wade Mitchell of Collingwood, Ontario, Fraser Parker of Hong Kong, China and Cynthia and her husband, Joshua Oppenhuis of Santa Monica, California; great-grandchildren, Aidan (12), Cole (10), and Piper Mitchell (8); stepdaughter, Carolyn Goodaire (nee Parker) of Toronto, Ontario and her sons, Timothy Goodaire, and his wife Sarah of New York, NY and their daughter, Sydney, Mark Goodaire and his wife Annie of Toronto, Ontario; and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended relatives. Albert was a passionate teacher. He began his teaching career of 23 years on a “local license” throughout Carleton County in Fielding, Glassville, Stickney, Upper Brighton, Sommerville and Pembrooke. Later he moved to Moncton High School, Simonds Regional High School and Saint John Vocational School. Albert was an accomplished pianist, he played the organ, pipe organ and piano in many churches and for special occasions throughout the province. Albert loved antiques, was an avid collector and successfully owned and operated The Antique House in Queenstown, N.B. for a number of summers. In 1970, Albert took his love for teaching and answered the call to preach the word of God. He preached in Queenstown, Hoyt, Deer Island and Saint John. In 2001, Albert and Gladys moved home to Bristol to spend their retirement years in the community that raised a boy to become a man of humanity.
Visitation will be held from Albert and Glady’s home at 1 Tapley Road, Florenceville-Bristol on April 17, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm. A time of visitation will also be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 1 to 3 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel, 207 Burnham Rd. Florencville-Bristol with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm. Rev. Oral McAffee will officiate. Interment will be in the Bristol Free Will Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the River View Manor would be appreciated. L.R.
