Passed away on April 17, 2013 in the arms of his dear wife, surrounded by his loving family at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, after a courageous battle with cancer, Stewart Mitchell, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his father, Edmund; sister, Julie and in-laws: Helen Pender (Gus), Edie Francis (Johnny), Alice Druken, Bobby Druken and Wally Lundrigan. Leaving to mourn with fond and cherished memories his mother, Grace; wife, Barbara; children: Joe (Wanda), Adrian (Rhonda), Karen Pike (Bill), Leona (Candice), Shawn (Bev); sister, Pauline Hynes (Leo); brothers: Wally (Joyce), Joe Wade (Lena); brother-in-law, Edward Druken; sisters-in-law: Anita Lundrigan and Rita Druken; fishing partner and dear friend, Neil Mitchell (Linda); ten precious grandchildren which he adored: Danielle, Kyle, Tiffany, Mitchell, Alexandria, Keegan, Noah, Tanner, Chayce, and Chelsea, as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. At Stewart’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral service to take place at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Extension.
