VAUGHAN, DOROTHY OGILVY nee MILLS - The death of Dorothy Ogilvy (Mills) occurred Thursday, April 18th, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born on October 28th, 1930 in Montreal, PQ, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Dorothy (Risteen) Mills and the wife of Ronald Vaughan. Dorothy grew up in McAdam, NB but moved to Fredericton to attend Teachers College and later Business College. She worked at the Teachers College for a short time before marrying her husband of 63 years, Ronald Vaughan. Dot was an active gardener with years of award winning roses and flower arrangements. Music was an important part of her life. Dot was a lifelong member of the Wilmot Church Choir as well as performing in shows and musicals throughout her life. More than anything, her passion was animals, especially her dogs and horses. As an adult, she even stated taking riding lessons so she could ride and compete. In addition to her husband, Dot is survived by a son Douglas (Rhonda); A daughter Susan (Jerome Connors); grandchildren Maggie, David and Stephen (Heather) Vaughan and Andrew and Sarah Connors.
At Dot’s request, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. For those who wish, donations made to the Fredericton SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com
