It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Whielema Shirley Brown, 74 of Amherst on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her home.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Laura (Tower) MacDonald.
In her younger years Will enjoyed figure skating as well as coaching, and travelling. She cherished her daily gatherings at MacDonald’s with her many friends.
Whielema will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving sons, Frederick (Gloria), Amherst and Allen, Glace Bay, NS; beloved grandchildren, Vanessa, Kyla, Jessica, Emma and Jacob; great grandson, Kaden; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Will was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her husband, William B. Brown; as well as several brothers and sisters.
As per her wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A graveside service in the Amherst Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be forwarded to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetic Association or Nova Scotia Lung Association.
