STEWART, NELLIE METILDA - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Nellie M. Stewart of Fredericton at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Born in Zealand, NB on April 22, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Lula (Brewer) Crouse. Nellie was also predeceased by her first husband Douglas Stewart, as well as her second husband David Williams. Nellie was a member of the Anglican Church and for many years worked in retail sales in Fredericton, the last being at the Towne Shop. Nellie was a people person and her love of life touched everyone she met. Survived by her children, Wayne and wife Gail of Rusagonis, Heather of Toronto, Christopher (Eileen) of Nasonworth, Gregory and wife Charlotte of Peterborough, Geoffrey (Cindy) of Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Cholene (Steve), Cole (Courtney), Derrick, Alysha, Troy (Edie), Tina (Tony) and Tammy (Rick); great-grandchildren; sister, Myra Vensel and husband Doug of Alberta; niece and nephews, Julie, Andrew, Kirk and their families; cousin and best friend, Marjorie Butler-Gray; stepsons, Stephen Williams and wife Vera of Newfoundland, Bruce Williams and wife Jennifer of Missouri.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road on Tuesday, April 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 24, at 2:00 pm with the Venerable John Sharpe officiating. Interment will be in the Lower Lincoln Cemetery. For those who wish, the family suggests memorials to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Wellness staff at Ste Anne's Court and to the doctors (Dr. Digby, Dr. Pniak, and Dr. Gowan) and the nurses on 4SW and the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for helping to make our mother's final days so peaceful and comfortable. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
