Peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Palliative Care Unit of Prince County Hospital Summerside on Sunday February 14, 2010 of Eric E. Thompson, Lions Drive, Kensington aged 83 years. Born in Kensington on October 1, 1926 son of the late Walter and Jennie (Carr) Thompson. Husband of D. Jean (Burt) Thompson. Father of Karen (Craig) Bell, Summerside and Janet (Gary) Heaney, Clinton. Grandfather to Beverly (Adam) Campbell, Elizabeth Heaney (Steven Gray), Natalie Heaney (Nick Everett) and Michaela Bell and three special great grandsons Braxton Campbell, Tyson Heaney and Dustin Ellis. Brother of Marshall (Evelyn) Thompson, Fountain Road; Jean (Thompson-Sherren) Burt, Kensington and Layton (Jean) Thompson, North Wiltshire. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Ruby Porter and brothers-in-law Edwin Porter, David Sherren and Colin Burt, father-in-law and mother-in-law Everett and Rena (Holmes) Burt, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Amon (Hazel) Burt, Evelyn (Bernard) Shields and Louise (Bill) MacIntyre. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery, Malpeque.
