It’s with great sadness we announce the sudden loss of our father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend suddenly on February 11, 2010 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He was with the love of his life, Linda, in their paradise on earth at the time of his passing. Paul was born on April 30, 1944, in Duval, Sask. at his family farm where he was the youngest of five children. Paul went to school in Strasbourg, Sask. and was very active in sports. After high school Paul went to the University of Saskatchewan and became a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He met the love of his life (Linda May Erhardt) on June 5, 1964 and they were married on Aug. 31, 1968. They lived in Saskatoon briefly while Paul finished school and went on to open a large animal Veterinary Clinic in Wakaw, Sask. They lived there for 14 years and had three children, Jason, Rhea Lynne and Damon. In 1983 Paul moved with his family to Shaunavon to work in a private practice and was there for two years until moving to Moose Jaw and taking on a job with Agriculture Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in 1985. Moose Jaw became home base for the next 25 years while enjoying the many things he and his family loved to do. After Paul’s retirement in 2001 they traveled during the winter months and fell in love with Puerto Vallarta in which they have spent the last many winters. The rest of the year was spent at home in Moose Jaw. Paul loved gardening, wood working in his shop, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. Another passion for Paul was farming and he would love helping out during seeding and harvest for Linda’s brother Gerry. Paul (Dadio, Opa, Doc) will be missed at all family functions but never forgotten as part of him still lives in all of us. Paul is predeceased by his parents Jeffery (1979) and Alma (2002). Paul is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Linda; three children Jason Edwards (Tracey), Rhea Lynne Edwards Anderson (Bill) and Damon Edwards (Amy); grandchildren Elizabeth, Sadie, Kali, Thomas, Liam, Claire, Isaac and Elliot; brothers Richard (Jean), Gerry (Lois); sisters Evelyn Campbell and Ann Morrison (Dean). A celebration of Paul’s life and funeral service will be scheduled at a later date. The family would like to thank friends and family for their compassion through this tough time.
