LOCKE, BRENTON STERLING - (1921 - 2013) - Mr. Brenton S. Locke of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home, at the age of 91, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was born at Castalia, Grand Manan, the son of the late Ashton and Ida (Mason) Locke. He had worked for NB Power and had been a school bus driver for eighteen years prior to his retirement. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Nora (Harvey) Locke, of Grand Harbour, two daughters, Marion Fletcher (Bruce) of Canmore, AB and Dianne McLaughlin, of Castalia. Two sons Allan Ashfield (Dianne) Castalia and Keith (Judy) Ashfeild, of Lincoln, Six Grandchildren, Three Great Grandchildren, one sister Marion Reppert of Castalia, and one brother Ray Locke also of Castalia, several nieces, and nephews. Brenton was predeceased by his sisters; Helen Richardson, and Katrina Locke. Also three brothers; Edison, Frank and John.
Visiting will take place from Ells Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday April 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ron Ford officiating. Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Brenton’s family has requested donation may be made to Maple Grove Cemetery, or the Alzheimer’s Association, or the donor’s choice.
