Margaret Jane Boutilier

Boutilier, Margaret Jane – 87, Brookfield, formerly of Middle Stewiacke, passed away April 28, 2013 at the Colchester hospital in Truro. Born in Edinburgh Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Janet Galloway. Margaret came to Canada in 1945 on board the “Aquitania”, as a War Bride. She was a devoted Mother to four children and took pride in being a home maker. For over 40 years, Margaret was a member of the Nova Scotia and Stewiacke Valley War Brides Association. In earlier years, she enjoyed bowling; she was also an avid card player and played right up to her final day. Margaret will be missed at the many card parties in the Brookfield area.
Margaret was predeceased by her eldest daughter Maxine Deyarmond.
Surviving are daughters, Susan (Tom) McLellan of Milford Station; Janet (Kevin) Borgel of Hammonds Plains; and only son Eric (Janine) of Truro; ex-husband and friend David Boutilier, Veteran’s Memorial Building, Halifax; son-in-law Darryl (Dana) Deyarmond. Grandchildren include Joelle (Scott) and Julie (Marc); David (Shannon), Aaron (Amanda) and Janet (Jason); Benn and Abby; and Jeffrey. Grammie was also very proud of her 9 great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Middle Stewiacke United Church on Thursday, May 2nd at 2 p.m. Reception will follow in the Middle Stewiacke United Church Hall. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or the Heart and Stroke Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
