Robert Houssen

Born: September 7th, 1945

Passed on: May 2nd, 2013

I finally have the opportunity to speak…. After 10 years of silence…
This letter goes out to all of my family members including my brothers Jimmy, Donny, and David, my sisters Judy and Patsy. To my son Robby, my daughters Debbie and Tammy, my beautiful grandchildren Cindy, Christian, Nadia, Genève, Isabella, and Mateo. How proud I am of you all and Dad (grandad) sends you his love and Mom (Nanny) blows you a kiss from above… This letter is also to all of my friends, you know who you are. And of course to the love of my life, Tel… xxx
I LOVE YOU…. and how I wish I could give you all the hug you all so desperately seem to need! I do so as you read me… So, Lighten up! Spring has sprung!
I watch you from above and am grateful knowing that you were all a part of my life. I thank you so much for the love you have given me. I may not have been perfect along my journey of life, but if our paths crossed and I was able to help you, it made my life worth living. Now that I am no longer a part of your world, I want you to know that I’ve been a witness to your struggles. Although you haven’t been able to feel my touch, I have always been there holding your hand every single time you’ve asked. Although I am not God, I love to feel needed and when you remember me and talk about me, I am alive in your heart. I miss you all too, and unfortuneately for the ones who will suffer from the loss, we will meet again. That being said, I want you to know that I watch over you all the time so please stop asking me for lottery numbers, your expectations are killing me. Here’s some advice, after the rain or snowstorm comes the sunshine… Things will always get better when you feel that they can’t get any worse so be patient. Relax and enjoy the moment, live your life to the fullest. And for heaven’s sakes, stop worrying about tomorrow and live your life one day at a time…

A thought for the day,
Robert Houssen Sept 7, 1945- May 2nd 2003
