Diana LeBlanc

LeBLANC, DIANA - Diana Gail LeBlanc passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Born in St. Thomas, ON, the eldest of three children, she would often regale the family with tales of her tomboy youth. In her 20’s she took flying lessons to overcome her fear of flying, which obviously worked as she and Phil travelled the world in the following years, citing Kenya and the Galapagos Islands among their favourites. After graduating from nursing school, she worked as an O.R. nurse and later ran Phil’s medical practice until their retirement. A nature lover at heart, she had many cats as pets throughout her life, and was ardent supporter of wildlife charities (among others). Even as her health deteriorated, she continued to enjoy friends and family, playing bridge, reading, cooking, and taking care of her husband Phil. She is survived by her beloved husband Phil, her son Philippe, and step-children, Michael (Vancouver), Jocelyn, Barbara, Susan LeBlanc, and Owen Brock of London, and Cathy and John Trocchi of London. Loved grandmother to Matt, Becky, Nikki, Emily, Jake, Christina, Ryan, and Zack. Big sister of Glenn and Theresa of Alliston, and Jamie and Gale of Alberta. Aunt to Erin, Trevor, and Nicole. Predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Isobel Britton, and stepson Danny.
Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, ON on Sunday, May 5th from 2 to 4 p.m. Prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Mass to be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph, ON on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. with reception at the church hall to follow. If so desired, donations to the the World Wildlife Fund or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by her family. Cards are available at the funeral home, 519-821-5077 or condolences for the family may be sent to www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
