Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, with the love and support of her loving family, of Edith Albina Murphy (nee MacArthur) beloved wife of Stephen Murphy, of Alberton, age 79 years. Born at Coleman on Nov. 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Murdoch and Rosina (nee Simmons) MacArthur. Loving mother to Chris (Sandy) of Summerside; Marlene Ramsay (Gordon) Sinclair of Kensington; Eileen (Andre) Rioux of Summerside; Gregory (Sherren) of Fort Augustus; and Sandra (Mike) Arsenault of DeBlois. Cherished grandmother to Shawn (Rose Anne) Murphy, Chad (Jennifer) Murphy, Jason (Nicole) Ramsay, Krista (Gary) Carruthers, Megan (Ben) Kean, Lauren Murphy, Lindsay Arsenault, Gina Arsenault and Robbie Arsenault. Great-grandmother to Keaunna Campbell, Reese Ramsay, Gavin Murphy, and Marshall Wilson-Kean. Step-grandmother to Crystal and Hannah Arsenault; Sara and Taylor Quinn, Bailee Noonan, Marley Gavin, and Nyomi and Landon Sinclair. Dear sister to Jean (Marvin) Green of Ottawa, and sister-in-law to Leona Murphy of Alberton, and Dorothy Murphy of Peterborough, Ont., and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Tanner Arsenault, her brother Johnny (Miriam) MacArthur, and by sisters, Frances (late Waldo) Murray, Mildred and Mary in infancy. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday afternoon from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for funeral mass at 1 p.m., Rev. Chris Sherren, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
