ALLAWAY, DOROTHY VERA - It's with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Dorothy Allaway, at the age of 98. The passing of a loved one is so final, and leaves us with such a heavy heart. We hold dear all of our memories of a kind and generous Dorothy. Dorothy Vera Keith was born on February 4, 1915. Her childhood and school years were spent in Mispec, New Brunswick. She married William (Bill) Allaway on November 11, 1938. Dorothy is survived by sons, Brian (Simone), Upper Tantallon, Kent (Sunny), Calgary; sisters-in-law, Joan Toner, Leona Toner, Leon Toner, all of Mispec; grandchildren, Cara, Brian William (Erin), Tiffany, Morgan, Spenser Kensey; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; sister, Marjorie; brothers, Ronald, Douglas, Kenneth, Glendon, Alwyn.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cruikshank's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax, B3K 5C9 (423-7295) where visitation will be held Tuesday, May 7 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home; a reception will follow. Interment for family will be held in Fairview Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, for the excellent care Dorothy received during the last five years. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, the Windsor Elms Village or a charity of your choice.
