David William Cuzner ‘Cuzie’, 70, of Sydney Mines, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney Mines, on Feb. 12, 1943, he was the youngest son of the late Ralph and Pearl Cuzner.
Dave is lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Doreen (Barrie) Cuzner; his daughter, Deborah Cuzner-Hyndman, Ottawa, and her sons, Curtis and Jameson; his son, David (Sarah), P.E.I., and their four children, Ethan, Abigail, Henry and Austin; by marriage, a daughter, Valrie Devoe-Marr; son, Melvin B. Devoe, and his children, Kriselle and Joshua. He is also survived by his brother, Rev. Arthur E. Cuzner; many nieces and nephews, a large extended family, and many dear friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley and Joseph, and twin grandchildren, Emily and Olivia.
According to Cuzie’s wishes, there will be no formal wake or funeral. Cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 7-9 p.m., to accommodate his many friends.
