LAMBERT, HERBERT DUNBAR - (1943 - 2013) - Mr. Herbert D. Lambert of North Head Grand Manan Island passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. He was born in North Head, the son of the late Wellington and Doris (Dunbar) Lambert. Herb started fishing for a living at a young age, spending most of his working life on the water. He was successful in his business ventures as he owned and operated a fish dragger, ran herring carriers, was an owner in the Iron Lady Weir, and was involved in the Salmon Aquaculture industry for over twenty years. When his wife Faith began to lose her quality of life due to failing health he dedicated all of his time, energy and love to keep her comfortable and at home for as long as possible. Always a faithful believer, a kind and generous man, he stood true to his character until the end. He is survived by his one daughter Sheila (Rick) Thomas of Moncton, NB, and one son Rupert (Janice) Lambert of North Head. His grandchildren include Bruce, Michael, Calvin, and Daniel Thomas, Matthew, Lisa-Kate Lambert, and Jane Cary. There also were seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Herb was predeceased by his loving wife Faith in July of 2012, two sisters; Molly Myring, Norma Banks, and his brother Judson.
Visiting will take place at the North Head Wesleyan Church on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the Church on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Rick Thomas officiating, and Rev. Jasper Rideout assisting. Interment to follow at the North Head Community Cemetery. Herb's family has requested donations may be made to Action Ministries.
