DOUCETTE, Marian Louise – 91, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with her husband at her side. Born January 15, 1922 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Eugenie LeBlanc. Marian began work as a hairdresser, after which she became a homemaker. She was an honorary lifetime member of the Minto Skating Club in Ottawa, and she loved sewing an quilting. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Vernon J. Doucette, as well as by her daughter, Paula Doucette, grandchildren, Craig (Laila) Labelle and great grandchildren, Mya and Matthew, all of Ottawa. Also surviving is a sister, Lee Robichaud, Ottawa, a sister-in-law, Dolly LeBlanc, Wedgeport, and several nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Richard and Paul LeBlanc and a sister, Rosie McGuire. In accordance with Marian’s wishes, there was no visitation. The funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 13 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Michael’s Parish Cemetery Fund or to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
