
Fenton Sturgeon
STURGEON, FENTON - The death of Mr. Fenton Garland Sturgeon, husband of Wendy (Donahue) Sturgeon of Blackville, NB, occurred on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 48. Born in Newcastle, NB, he is the son of Sherman and Leona (Coughlan) Sturgeon. Fenton was a member of St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Blackville and was retired from Mobile Equipment as Manager. He was a volunteer Fireman in Blackville for 25 years, retired basketball coach and former chairperson of the PSSC at Blackville High School, Former Blackville Village Councillor and former Vice President of the Blackville Recreation Council. He also had a great love for his dogs. Besides his parents and wife: Fenton is survived by: two sons: Christopher (Holly) and Matthew (Vanessa) all of Blackville, NB; one grandson: Caleb; one sister: Ann Martin (Ronnie) of Baie Ste. Anne, NB; three brothers: Jeffery (Judy) of Hopewell Cape, NB; Armond (Pamela); Millar (Corinna) all of Miramichi, NB; father in law: Lewis Donahue of Blackville, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his grandparents, Fenton is predeceased by: mother in law: Dora Donahue and brother in law: Perry Donahue.
The family will receive visitors at the Father A.A. McKinnon Hall in Blackville, NB today from 7 to 9 PM and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Blackville on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11 AM with Father Joseph Okoko officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. In Fenton’s memory, donations may be made to the CNIB.
