It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our brother Daniel McEachern on Sunday, May 12, at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Dan and Ida (Clements) McEachern. Daniel worked in No. 12 and Lingan mines for 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Army, Navy, Airforce and a former member of St. Agnes Church, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard. Daniel truly enjoyed listeneing to Scottich music.
Surviving are brothers, Wilfred (Agnes) McEachern, New Waterford, Hugh McEachern, Sudbury, Ont.; sisters, Annie McEachern, Emmeline (Roddie) McNeil, Dorothy (Tom) Ling, all of New Waterford; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by twin brothers in infancy, four year old brother, Raymond and brother-in-law, Roddie McNeil.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 15 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, New Waterford. Burial will be in St. Agnes cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Plummer Avenue, New Waterford.
The family would like to thank Dr. Azer, the nurses and staff of the medical floor at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital for the excellent care given to our brother. Also thanks to the ladies auxillary of the K.O.C. for the lunch served and V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home staff for their caring service.
