Dr. Charles Clifford Anderson

Born In: Baddeck

Passed on: May 11th, 2013

We regret to announce the sudden passing of Dr. Charles Clifford Anderson, 54, in Halifax on May 11, 2013.
He was born in Baddeck, N.S. He was the son of the late Mary Anderson (Hutchison) and Clifford Anderson.
He was a graduate of Baddeck Rural High School in 1976 where he excelled as a student. He continued on to obtain a BSc at Dalhousie University after which he entered their medical program, graduating in 1983 with a Doctor of Medicine. He began his career as a beloved family physician in Cole Harbour and for the last 22 years, he practised in St Margaret’s Bay/Tantallon.
He was a loving husband and father to his wife Donna (MacDonald) of Sydney, N.S.; and son, Cameron. He is also survived by his sister, Shelly (Stuart); brother, Donald (Heather) and their children, Kristopher (Craig) and Jennifer (Donald); sister-in-law, Mary and her son, David; brothers-in-law, Scott (Sophie) and Lorne (Kim) and his daughter, Emily; and his brother-in-law, Rob and his son, David.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary and father, Clifford, brother, Wayne, and niece, Jane.
To all of us who knew and loved Charlie, he was always the bright spot in everyone’s day. With a quick wit and dry sense of humour, he brought smiles and laughter to all who were lucky enough to be part of his life. At times it may have taken him a while to form just the perfect response; however, as we all know, it was always well worth the wait. He was a lifelong tinkerer, taking part in rebuilding things, always improving on the original. He had a brilliant mind that allowed him to excel at everything he put his hands to. His hobbies included golfing and gourmet cooking. He loved to test new recipes with friends and family at gatherings.
He was a technophile, immersed in aspects of technology including those that the average person could not even fathom. He loved music, and attended many concerts with his partner in life, Donna, with whom he also enjoyed many southern vacations — often accompanied by many friends and family. He never hesitated to share his vast knowledge with others, taking particular joy in being a great dad and teacher to his biggest little buddy Cameron. Charlie was loved by all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at the MacAskill Funeral Home in Baddeck, N.S., on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18 at Greenwood United Church in Baddeck, N.S. A private family burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
