Hector J. MacNeil, age 76, of Beaver Bank, passed away on Jan. 28, 2013, at home.
Born in West Boularderie, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Daniel and Florence (MacKinnon) MacNeil.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bernadine (Bernie) (Cameron) MacNeil, and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Hector MacNeil will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Florence, with Fr. Sandy MacNeil officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. There will be a reception in the parish hall, after the mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Hector's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
