His remains are to be cremated by Gray's Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK, and his ashes will be transported, at a later date, back to his hometown of Stephenville, NL and laid to rest beside his wife Christine. At this time, family would like to recognize and commend Dr. Mark Halyk for his compassion, kindness and care. Dad thought there was no other Doctor like you, actually, he told you that you were the first real doctor he met. You took time with Dad and explained everything in terms he understood. You never rushed us when we went to see you. When he became ill, you explained the illness and options so Dad could decide for himself and this made things easy for Dad to make the decisions he did. Again, thank you for showing that caring and compassion still exists. To Colleen, you are a wonderful asset to Dr. Halyk. You always joked with Dad and made him smile. To the Home Care Nurses, you are all wonderful at your jobs. Michelle, you certainly chose the perfect profession for yourself. Your kindness and compassion is perfect for Palliative Care. God Bless you all.
