After a long, courageous fight against cancer, the family of Gord Gilbertson is sad to announce his passing. With the love of his life Trish and their son Steven by his side, Gord left us May 12, 2013.

Left to cherish his memory are his true love Patricia, his father James (Liz) Gilbertson, sons Steven (Lisa) and Jamie Foottit, brother Bob (Sharon) Gilbertson, mother-in-law Inez Beaton and his ten beautiful grandchildren. Gord also leaves behind his in-laws, Judy, Lawrie (Pi-Yen), Twylia and Colleen, along with step-brothers Richard, Bruce & Robert Ames, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles and the many friends and who adored him. He will also be missed by two special "almost daughters" Denise & Lynsey.

Gord was predeceased by his mother Ellen Gilbertson.

A special thank you to all the friends who lent an ear or pair of hands during Gord's last months. Also, the biggest thanks to the staff of Kamloops Hospice Association making his last days more peaceful, and for caring for the family on a daily basis. You were all a blessing.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 19th at the home of Jim & Liz Gilbertson from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., 4768 Spruce Crescent, Barriere, BC.

In lieu of flowers Trish requests donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association.

Be at peace Gord, you will
