
Noël Leger
LEGER, NOËL - 1929 - 2013 - Noël Léger, 84 of Saint-Antoine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital University Centre, Moncton on Tuesday, May 14th, 2013. He was married to the late Lorraine (Léger) Léger (2008). Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent, he was the son of the late André and the late Emilie (Cormier) Léger. Noël was a skilled man of many trades, especially in the field of masonry and in religious statue restoration. He was greatly valued in the community for his efforts and determination in organizing various events and charitable groups such as Le Festival de la poutine, Knights of Columbus and the local chapter of the Lions Club. He was an avid sports fan, mainly of the game of hockey. He will be greatly missed. Noël will be sadly missed by his seven children; Ella Picotte (Jacques) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Gisèle Smith (David) of Notre-Dame, Noëlla Leger of Montreal, Diane Léger (Sam Curzon) of Calgary, Suzanne Leger (Michelle Hanson) of Ottawa, Charles (Rhéa) of Notre-Dame and Marc of Dieppe, his eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn three sisters; Marguerite LeBlanc, Lorraine Léger both of Saint-Antoine and Mathilda Cyr of Sudbury, two brothers; Vital (Alice) of Moncton and Roger of Sudbury, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two children in infancy, one sister Andréa and two brothers; Joffre and Omer.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on Friday, May 17th, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine Church on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at 11:00 am with interment in the parish cemetery.
