Surrounded by her loved ones, Mrs. Harbans Kaur Jaswal, 90, of Kamloops, passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home on Wednesday May 15th, 2013.
Born in India, Harbans had five siblings and married Joginder Singh Jaswal before relocating to Kamloops with their three young sons in 1974.
A beloved grandmother, mother and sister, Harbans enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. Harbans was incredibly kind, friendly, generous and warmhearted. She was very active and loved to go on long walks around Aberdeen, always stopping to chat with neighbours along the way.
Harbans will be deeply missed but has left behind many wonderful memories to be cherished. She is survived by her sons Harvinder (Parm), Surinder (Veena), grandchildren Reena (Geoffery), Ravi, Nisha, Sangeeta and Sonya.
She was predeceased by her husband Joginder Singh and son Raj Kumar.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 19th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schoening Funeral Centre, 513 Seymour Street. Following a cremation, there will be a Path Bogh at the Sikh Cultural Society.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association in memory of Harbans.
Harbans' family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all of the involved doctors, nurses, and volunteers at Royal Inland Hospital and the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home for providing excellent care and ensuring that Harbans and her family were comfortable during this difficult time.
