It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Norma Moraff on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Upper Baddeck River, Victoria County, Mary was the daughter of the late Norman and Agnes (MacMillian) MacLeod. She was the last member of her immediate family.

To mention a few, the United Way, Red Cross, John Howard Society, Cape Breton Health Care and of course, her true passion, “Politics”, with the Cape Breton Liberal Association for many years. This led to her being presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Melvin ‘Buddy’; grandson, Montana Lee; sisters, Christine Morrison and Jessie Gilholm; and brothers, Alan and Malcolm ‘MW’ MacLeod.
Mary “Grammy” leaves behind her sons, Dennis (Lorna), Victoria, BC and Bruce (Dawn), Halifax; daughter, Carla (Kevin), Victoria, B.C.; granddaughters, Cayle, Alysha and Star; step-granddaughter, Michele; great-stepson, Alex; several nieces and nephews.
By request, there will be no visitation or service. A reception will be held at Cape Breton Parkland, 118 Kenwood Dr. on Sunday, May 19 from 2-4 p.m.
