Lawrence "Larry" Glaspy
GLASPY, LAWRENCE “LARRY” M. - The family of Larry M. Glaspy, 52 of Nauwigewauk, beloved husband of Linda (Parfitt) Glaspy and loving father of Sarah, announce his death, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 15, 2013. Larry was born in Saint John and was a son of Jeannette (LeRoy) Glaspy and the late Michael C. Glaspy. Larry graduated from Simonds High School and N.B. Community College. Larry accepted a position with Godfrey and Associates and after a number of years while on a work assignment in Florenceville he met the love of his life, Linda. Larry then moved on to CBCL Management and Consultants as part of their organizational team before accepting a management position with the Dowd/Hovey Group of Companies. Larry and his wife Linda are presently owner/managers of Dowd Cladding and Metals Ltd. serving commercial and industrial customers throughout Atlantic Canada. Larry with his brother Paul, operated a construction company called Glaspy Brothers Ltd. Larry participated in several industry organizations and committees, in particular The N. B. Roofing Contractor’s Association; The Construction Association of New Brunswick and N. B. Construction Safety Association. Larry’s interests were hockey, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, boating and many happy times at home and on the Belleisle with family and friends. Besides his mother, wife and daughter, he is survived by brothers, Paul Glaspy, Saint John; David Glaspy, Edmonton, AB; Michael Glaspy (Gorete Santos) Big Cove; Stephen (Misty) Glaspy, Saint John; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.
Larry is resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visitation on Sunday and Monday, May 19 and 20 from 3 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 12:10 pm. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
