Surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, of Richard D. Newsome of North Tryon age 83 years. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Dawson) Newsome. Loving father of Katherine Ellis, Dianne (Rick) Ellis, Donna (Ronald) MacKinnon, Carol (Jimmy) MacDonald and Morley Newsome. Dear grandfather of Andrew (Bethany) Ellis, Jennifer (Korey) Benoit, Christopher and Jason Ellis, Kirk (Mallory Francis) MacKinnon, Amanda (Jordan Visser) MacKinnon, Colin (Kristy) McCardle, Krista (Brad) Parson, Lincoln McCardle and four great-grandchildren Mya, Maci, Cameron, and Brody. Also survived by special family members Donald and Roger (Donna) Lord. Predeceased by his parents George and Amanda Newsome and brother John Newsome. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, with visiting hours Tuesday, May 21, 6-9 p.m. Funeral service from the South Shore United Church, Tryon, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers if so desired, memorial donations by be made to the PCH Foundation or South Shore United Church. Interment in Tryon People's Cemetery.
