Paul Pitt
PITT, PAUL D. - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Paul David Pitt announce his unexpected passing on Thursday, May 23, 2013. His laughter and his huge heart will be missed by so many. Born in Saint John in 1965, he was a son of Barbara Joan (McGuire-Porter) Pitt and the late Gailyn David (Dave) Pitt. Paul was a graduate of Simonds High School of 1985 where he was involved in sports and making his friends laugh. Paul was employed as a school bus driver in Saint John and a member of CUPE Local 380. Blessed with a golden voice, Paul's passion was singing and he eventually became a popular Karaoke Host at both Noodles Pub and Somerset Pub where he had a great many caring friends. Paul was a great salesman and worked with both his father, Dave and his brother, Mike as a furniture sales representative travelling Atlantic Canada. As a driving instructor, Paul taught many people in Saint John and the surrounding area to learn how to drive. Paul gave 100% to all that he loved - from music to golf, from skiing to listening to a great many audiobooks. An avid sports fan, Paul was an armchair quarterback watching his Browns, Patriots, and Packers. Paul was also a die-hard Boston Bruins fan. In addition to his mother, Barbara, Paul is survived by his siblings, Steven Porter (Susan) of Quispamsis, Michael Porter (Cheryl), Claire Porter, and Tanya Pitt, all of Saint John; a niece, Jennifer Boyd (Brad) of Kingston, Ontario; two nephews, Matthew Porter of Saint John and Isaac Porter of Quispamsis; Brendan Whitney of Saint John, who Paul always thought of and treated as his son; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and he had a special place in his heart for little Lea. In addition to his father, Paul was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Ann Porter.
