ROWAN, BURTON MERVYN - It is with profound sadness and deep regret that we announce the passing of Burton Mervyn Rowan in his 68th year on May 22nd, 2013 in Jasper, Alberta. He will be sadly missed by the love of his life Susan (Madden), his wife of 39 years. He was a truly loved uncle of Chris Rowan, Scott Rowan (Amelia), Jeff Madden (Heather), Robert Madden (Rachel), Mark Madden (Tara), Ryan Madden (Brittany) and Madison Allen. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of his two God daughters Sarah DeClercq and Anna Misskey. Burt will be fondly remembered by many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father John, his mother Mary and his brother Calvin. He was born in Edson and moved to Jasper at a young age. His career on the Canadian National Railway as a conductor spanned 36 years. He was a sports enthusiast both as a participant and a spectator. He was a well respected member of the community.
A funeral service to celebrate Burton's life will be held at St. Mary and St. George Anglican Church in Jasper, Alberta at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013. The family has designated the Canadian Cancer Society, Seton Jasper General Hospital or the charity of your choice for memorial contributions.
