DOUCETTE, CHARLES "DUKE" HUBERT - 1942 - 2013 - Charles "Duke" Hubert Doucette, 70, passed away on Saturday, May 25th, 2013 at his residence. Born on June 15th, 1942 in St. Andrew's, NL, he was the son of the late Allen G. and Margaret (Greene) Doucette. Charles was a retired Sheet Metal worker having worked at Boudreau Sheet Metal Works and BSM Services. He was a retired member of Local 437. He was an avid wood carver having brought comfort and encouragement to many suffering from cancer with his carvings of Nuthatches. He is survived by a son, Rick (Helen) of Memramcook; two daughters: Vicki (Eric) Rasmussen and Valerie Doucette both of Courtenay, BC; five brothers: Clarence (Bev), Clifford (Debbie), Allen (Muriel) all of Oshawa, ON, Stanley (Louise) of Beaumont and John of Moncton; four sisters: Joan (Herb) Eagles of Colpitts Settlement, Eunice (Fred) Hill of Gimli, MB, Ann Gautreau of Dieppe and Karen (Bill) Foster of East Gwillimbury, ON; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main, Shediac (532-36297) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, May 31st, 2013 at 2 pm. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 30th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 1 pm until time of service. A reception will follow at Frenette Funeral Center, Shediac. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Charles, a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (oncology) or donor's choice would be appreciated.
