Lenore Emmons

Lenore Muriel Belle Emmons (nee Hagen) passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2013, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.
Lenore was born December 17, 1940 to Ernst and Ida-Mae Hagen of Kelvington, SK. In 1957, the Hagen family moved to Prince Albert, SK where Lenore graduated Grade 12. That same year she met Ron Emmons.
Lenore married Ron on September 3, 1960 and started their family immediately. Living in Prince Albert, Lenore made many friends through Kinette’s, Sweet Adelines, and her work with Royal Bank. In 1983, Lenore moved with Ron to Saskatoon where she continued to gather many friends who always enjoyed Lenore’s enthusiastic personality and her zest for having fun. Lenore also continued to work with Royal Bank for many years in Saskatoon.
In her retirement, Lenore found a love for painting with acrylics and playing the ukulele. The ukulele gave Lenore the freedom to express her life long love of music through her own instrument.
Lenore was predeceased by her parents, Ernst and Ida-Mae Hagen and parents-in-law, Lester and Victoria Emmons.
Lenore is survived by Ron, her loving husband of 52 years; daughter, Sheryl Stansfield (Vern Dueck) and grandson, Alex Stansfield of Innisfail, AB; son, Randy Emmons (Nancy Brooks) of Calgary, AB; and son, Regan (Karen) Emmons, grandson, Hayden and granddaughter, Sydney Emmons of Saskatoon. She also leaves behind her special friend, Shirley Ward (Wayne) of Aldersyde, AB.
Special thanks to Dr. Anita Agrawal, her nurse, Margie, and all the wonderful staff of the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic; Dr. Selma McMahon, her long time family doctor and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital. She was treated with compassion and respect in all attempts to make her comfortable and pain free.
A celebration of Lenore’s life will be held at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon, SK on Friday, May 31st at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations would be happily accepted to benefit the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, SK.
