Micheline Lajoie

LAJOIE, MICHELINE LISE - 1951 - 2013 - Micheline Lise Lajoie, of Dieppe NB, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday, May 30st 2013 at the age of 62. She was married to Jean Nowlan. Born in Edmundston, NB, on March 31, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Fortunat Lajoie and the late Yvette (Nadeau) Lajoie. Aside from her husband, Jean Nowlan, she leaves behind one son, Serge Langis (Nicole Angers) of Moncton, NB, and one daughter, Brigitte Langis (Todd Rioux) of Calgary, AB, as well as three grandsons, Ethan, Olivier and Logan; and the father of her children, Jacques Langis; two brothers, Clarence Lajoie (Claudette Tremblay) of Summerstown, ON, and Ronald Lajoie (Nicole) of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC; two sisters, Gisele Lajoie (Normand Lemieux) of Wellington, ON, and Jovette Lajoie of Sainte-Foy, QC; a brother-in-law, Gerald (Jerry) Raymond of Madawaska, ME; three step-daughters, Judith Nowlan (Grégoire Cormier) of Dieppe, NB, Nathalie Nowlan (Samir Bekhechi) of Montréal, QC, and Isabelle Nowlan (Annie Girard) of Saint-Constant, QC; three step-grandchildren, Malik, Sarah and Gabriel; one brother-in-law, Henri Nowlan (Gilberte Boudreau) of Memramcook, NB; two sisters-in-law, Anne-Marie Nowlan (Sylvio LeBlanc) of Dieppe, NB, and Antoinette Nowlan (Gilles Pichette) of Grand Falls, NB. Micheline was the niece of Père Laurent Nadeau of Edmundston, NB; she also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Muriel Raymond in 2004. Micheline retired from the Provincial Government after 26 years of service. Family and friends were very precious to her. She was very proud to be a member of the team of volunteers at the Capital Theatre. She was involved in volunteer work throughout the years. The family would like to express their appreciation to neighbours and friends for their kind words and support. We also extend our special thanks to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of the Moncton City Hospital and of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Teaching Hospital who always had an unlimited amount of care and kindness directed towards Micheline.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the Chartersville Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 from 2 pm, followed by a funeral service at the chapel at 4 pm; reception to follow. Burial will take place in the family plot at the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Edmundston, NB. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Micheline’s memory may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society, at the donor’s discretion.
