JOHNSON, BOYD - Boyd S. Johnson, of Moncton, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, May 31, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Born in Steeves Mountain, NB he was the son of the late Clinton and Lauretta (Lutes) Johnson. Boyd was retired from the City of Moncton after 35 plus years of service. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed the great outdoors, and spent many relaxing hours gardening and at his camp. He enjoyed the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. Left with fond memories are his daughters, Lynne (Gary) Ross of Winnipeg, MB, Nancy (Maurice "Moe") Mercier of Riverview, Cindy (Mitch) Whittington of Langdon, AB, Lori Johnson of Moncton; sons, Bruce (Cathi) of Indian Mountain, Barry (Debbie) of Lethbridge AB, Brent (Heather) of Moncton, Blake (Cheryl) of Steeves Mountain, Brady (Angela) of Winnipeg, Brian (Linda) of Steinbach, MB, Brock (Christine) of Winnipeg, MB; 29 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Roland and Joanne from Open Arms Special Care Home. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Lorna J. (Scott) in 2003; sister, Dorothy Jones; and by an infant brother.
Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm and Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 10 to 11 am. The funeral service will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Road on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. James Eagles officiating. Interment will be in Steeves Mountain Cemetery. In Boyd's memory, donations made to the New Brunswick Bible Institute would be appreciated by the family.
