Bernard "Bernie" Tattrie

Tattrie, Bernard “Bernie" – 97, Tatamagouche, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at home with his family by his side. Born in French River, he was a son of the late Samuel and Minnie (Dorey) Tattrie. During his working years, Bernie was a snowplow operator for the Department of Transportation. Bernie enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting or fishing. He especially was fond of horses. Bernie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Laura; sons, Larry (Debbie) and Kevin (Cheryl) both of Tatamagouche; daughters, Diane Morton, Oxford Junction; Betty (Lloyd) MacNutt, Tatamagouche; Kathleen Tattrie, Tatamagouche; Kim Hines (Leonard Byrns), East Earltown; Sandra (Charlie) Borgal, Malagash; sister, Beulah Trattie, Truro; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildern; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd, Laurie, Harold, and Elzie; sisters, Marm Spinney, Annie MacDonald, and Helen Millett; daughter, in infancy; grandson, Jason Edward Pope; son-in-law Allan Buckler; grandson-in-law, Chris Patriquin. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 3 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche (657-3288). Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche. Memorial donations to the North Shore Health Services Foundation or to the French River Cemetery would be appreciated.
