HURLBURT, Ernest “Ernie” Ross – 67 of Yarmouth, passed away at home on June 1, 2013. Born in Yarmouth on June 24, 1945 he was a son to the late Ralph and Rowina (Atwood) Hurlburt. Ernie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a body mechanic for most of his life and had a passion for working on cars. Ernie was an avid outdoors man who loved working in the woods, camping, and taking road trips on his motorcycle. His hobby was his horses, especially his horse Thunder who he won many awards with. He is survived by sons, Ross (Laurel) Hurlburt, Vancouver B.C.; Mark Hurlburt (Lisa), Yarmouth; daughters, Angela Sanford, Stewiacke; Monica (William) Saulnier, South Ohio; brothers, Roy (Vicky) Deerfield; Devern (Marion), Kempt; Curtis (Lorna), Hectanooga; sister, Geraldine ( late Vernon), Darling Lake; grandchildren, Jamie, Megan, Christian, Jordan, Cody, Devon, Tyler, Brenton, Madison, Emily; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Ernest was predeceased by his loving wife Carol (Hubbard) Hurlburt. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Wednesday, June 5 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment followed in Sandford Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of your choice.
