Age 86, peacefully passed away in the presence of his family on June 4, 2013. Predeceased by his first wife Marjorie (Palfrey), his parents Edward and Anne (Flynn), brothers Herb and Dermot and sister Agnes Degan. Leaving to mourn his wife, Elaine; children: Bob, John (Judy), Gary, Mary Lynn (Ted Purcell), Paul, Ann Marie (Bob Morrissey), Rosemary (Terry Daley); step-children: John Palfrey, Rick Palfrey (Donna), Lynn Palfrey (Gerard Whelan); grandchildren Teddy and Kimberley Purcell, Colin and Kayla Buckingham, John, Kathryn, Billy, T.J. and Domenica Daley, and Patrick Quigley; step-grandchildren Jack and Luke Whelan, Celine and Samuel Palfrey; brothers and sisters: Margaret, Anne (Frank Crotty), Ed (Helen), Phil (Carolyn), Joe (Helen), Brendan (Sandra); sisters-in-law: Helen Ryan and Alice Buckingham; and numerous nephews and nieces. John Buckingham was a steadfast member of the Knights of Columbus being a past State Deputy for Newfoundland and Labrador and a past Grand Knight of Terra Nova Council 1452. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, June 7, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service at Mary Queen of Peace, Torbay Road on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
