Dorothy Pearl Hunt - 97, of Wolfville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born on November 15, 1915 in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Laura (Berry) Spencer. She had been employed as a custodian at Acadia University, retiring in 1974. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Wolfville Ridge United Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, Deaconess and is an Honourary Deaconess. She is survived by two sons, Morris “Moe” (Valerie), Tantallon; Harold (Ellen), Wolfville Ridge; a daughter, Jean (Basil) Dodge, New Minas; a brother, Douglas, Windsor; grandchildren, Martin (Marilyn) Dodge, Marlene (Jeff) Dodge-Campbell, Kevin (Susan) Hunt, Vicki Dodge, Jennifer (Graeme) Garrett, Lisa (David) Penzer, Louise (Randy) Vautour, Michael (Janice) Hunt, Carlene (Kenneth) Whynot, Jason (Amy) Hunt, Harold (Heidi) Hunt; 21 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Hunt; a son, William (Frances); three brothers, James, Clarence and Basil; a sister, Laura (Clarence) MacCharles; a grandson, Darrell Dodge. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 in the Wolfville Ridge United Baptist Church, Reverend Gary Manthorne and Reverend Fran Woodside officiating. Burial took place in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. A reception followed in the church hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Wolfville Ridge United Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
