Donald T. Clarkin, age 84, died on May 31, 2013, at his residence, in Myrtle Beach, S.C., after a long illness. He was born in New York City and lived there until his retirement in 2001. Donald has been visiting Little Pond, P.E.I., since early childhood and became a summer resident in 1999.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Edward Clarkin; his brother, Robert; and step mother, Amelia Clarkin. Donald is survived by Marie-Benoiste de Gruson, his wife of forty years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
A memorial service will take place at St. Francis de Sales Church, in Little Pond, P.E.I., at a later date. Donations in Donald's memory may be made to St. Francis de Sales Church, Little Pond, P.E.I., or a charity of your choice.
