Etta Anderson (MacDonald) passed away peacefully, June 13, 2013, at the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Home surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved mother to Maryn Anderson, Halifax; Elinor (Michael) Kelly, Halifax; George (Jennifer) Anderson, Halifax. Survived by her grandchildren, Shannon, Sarah, Mary Jane, Sophie, Caroline and Alexander. Dear sister of Wanda MacDonald, CSM, Corran Ban; Anna MacDonald (Richard Duffy), Newton, Massachusetts; Genevieve MacDonald (Carl), Glenfinnan; and John A. MacDonald, Ottawa. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Predeceased by her husband, George Anderson; parents, John Wilfred and Katherine "Katie" (Fraser) MacDonald; by her sisters, Dr. Elinor MacDonald MacLellan, Donalda Pendergast and Katherine MacDonald CSM,LLD; by her brothers-in-law, Donald MacLellan, Edward Pendergast and Louis MacDonald; and by her sister-in-law, Mona MacDonald.
Etta was an active and dedicated educator and guidance counsellor for 35 years and a faithful Associate of the Sisters of St. Martha. She took great pleasure in dedicating her time and energy to several organizations including the Scottish Settlers Historical Society, the Choir and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the staff of the Atlantic Baptist Home for their loving and compassionate care.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Monday at 10:45, then to St. Pius X Church, Charlottetown, where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Visitation on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment in St. Patrick's Church Cemetery, Fort Augustus.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
