Passed peacefully away at Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, NL, surrounded by family, Kevin Joseph O’Regan, aged 80 years. Predeceased by his parents, Dr. Donal and Mary O’Regan, his sister Sheilagh, and brother-in-law Tom Byrne. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Angela; son Kevin (Jeannie French); and daughters: Susan (Kevin Lamond), Brenda (Craig Hiscock), and Angie (Jeff Wall). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Daniel and Timothy O’Regan, Allison and Michael Lamond, and Andrew and Stephen Hiscock. Dearly missed by his brothers: Seamus (Janet) and Donal (Gloria); sister-in-law Alice Knechtel; special Aunt Mona Kennedy; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who were all so close to him.
Kevin was a well-known Newfoundland businessman with ties to the North American professional beauty industry. He wholeheartedly embraced the concept of giving back to his community. Through his associations with the Jaycees, Elks, and Rotary, he made a difference and many lifelong friends. He especially loved raising money for children’s charities, the Autism Centre, and other causes he was passionate about.
Kevin is resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s, NL, with visitation on Saturday, June 15, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday, June 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X Parish on Monday, June 17, at 1:15 p.m. Cremation to follow the funeral mass with private interment for the family at a later date.
