Passed peacefully away on June 19, 2013, at the Miller Center, Michael Patrick Vail, of St. Mary’s, age 68 years. Preceded in death by his parents Patrick and Mary Vail and sister Anna Stapleton (June 11, 2013). Michael leaves three sisters: Rosemary Crawley, Patricia O’Brien, both of St. John’s and Jeanette Maupin (Terry) of Raleigh, North Carolina; three nieces and eight nephews and a large circle of friends in St. Mary’s area. A special thank you to his cousin James Murray (Maureen) and niece Mary O’Brien for their overwhelming care and kindness during Michael’s illness and final days. As per his wishes, cremation has occurred. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, St. Mary’s on Monday, June 24 at 2:30 p.m., followed by inurnment at the “Old” Cemetery.
