CORMIER,BENOIT - Benoit Cormier, 31, of Dieppe, formerly of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Halifax Victoria General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born December 10, 1981, he was the son of Armand and Louise (Goguen) Cormier. Besides his parents, he is survived by his common-law wife, Chanelle Gallant; his little princess, Danika Gallant (seven years old); his sister, Suzanne (Bernard Gardiner) of Halifax; his brother, Pierre (Paula Stackhouse) of Saint John; his maternal grandfather, Désiré Goguen of Bas Cap-Pelé; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Benoit was employed with CN as a Train Engineer. He loved spending time with his family, riding his Harley, winning at poker, golfing, camping, and enjoyed the outdoors.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Wednesday from 10:00 am until departure for Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
